#1 Golf Fun! Golf Smart!

Tuesday
Grades 1-5

This is a leading national program instructed by PGA professionals only. Progress is structured to be a balance of technical and social skills, which better reflects the reality of golf at the golf course…and in life. This course will work with students to improve their technical skills, an equally important goal is to help people learn to truly understand and enjoy golf while “living with” their current golf ability. Golf is a social skill. Parents receive weekly emails detailing what students will be learning in class. Handbook, training equipment, fitted golf clubs, etc. are included. Each student will receive a Golf Handbook and a hat/visor to keep. Build the foundation to enjoy golf for a lifetime! Minimum 6 students – Max 15 students. Feb 4-Mar 31. PGA Professional Instructor. Special pricing for this course is $180.00 for 8 classes (only $22.50 per lesson! Plus book & visor!) Parents will need to pay outside the registration platform after enrollment is confirmed &emailed to you. You must complete within 24 hours to avoid being dropped from course.

Come have loads of fun learning to play tennis! We’ll start with drills to teach the fundamentals – coordination, drills, ad rules. #9 Texas Bluebonnet Club

Are you ready to be the first student to see the new Texas Bluebonnet Award books? Join this fun class to read and participate in creative activities that coordinate with the new books on the list. During the last session, posters will be created to display in the library that promote your new favorite Texas Bluebonnet. Have your 5 books read before they are released in the Tanglewood Library! #10 Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or BJJ is a martial art based on grappling and ground fighting, focusing on the skill of controlling one’s opponent through techniques that force them to submit. It prides itself in being known as the “gentle art”, allowing a smaller, weaker person to use leverage and submission to to defend against a larger opponent. Limited to 16 students. Feb 4-Mar 18. #11 Let’s Make a Magazine

Students will plan and produce content derived from their own passions and interests; work with professional photographer to produce magazine cover photo; help design and create artwork for the magazine advertisers; edit the magazine proof – all of which will culminate in producing, from cover-to-cover, a real magazine … the 3rd Annual – ‘Kids Issue’ of Tanglewood Living and Overton Life magazines. #12 Cooking

Get your Julia Childs on! Join this fun class as they prepare a weekly snack (holiday themed if near a holiday) learning to measure, mix and other life skills. The best part? Students will get to eat their creations! Please no students with food allergies in this course. Feb 4 -Mar 18. Limited to 12 students. Ms. Wagman and Ms Hyde.

#13 Tiger Dodgeball

#20 Tigers Saving Lives

Grades 4-5

Yes! Kids CAN do effective CPR! Whether you want to babysit, lifeguard, have an interest in the medical field or just be ready in an emergency, this class is for you! CPR is a life skill for everyone! Following the American Heart Association curriculum, kids will learn proper CPR for infants, children and adults as well as learn how to handle choking and use an AED. We will do hands on skills with mannequins. Kids will receive a completion certificate for this friends & family course and an AHA booklet to keep for reference. Limited to 7 students. Feb 4-Mar 18. Online Registration Preparation & Instructions

STEP ONE

BEFORE January 23, visit the Tanglewood registration page on Homeroom.com and click “Sign Up” in the upper right to create an account:

  • Create Login & PW
  • Pre-enter Payment Information
  • Complete Student Information Form (teacher, allergies, etc.)

This will greatly speed up the process during live enrollment. You may filter by grade or day of week. Click on a course title for more information on that class. Then take note of the “vendors” (instructors) of the classes you’re interested in.

STEP TWO

On Thursday, January 23 at 7:00 PM Enrollment will open at this link: 
https://www.homeroom.com/sites/tanglewood-elementary-fort-worth

  1. At least 30 minutes before enrollment opens, go to the link above and click “Login to Add” and login. (If you didn’t follow step one already, then do that now.)
  2. Use the filters to narrow down the view to just the classes you are interested in. At 7:00 PM, click “Add to Cart” to add your desired classes to your cart. Do NOT click “Add to Cart” before 7:00 PM or you’ll receive a notification that you are too early to register.
  3. Once you’re done adding classes, click your cart button in the upper right hand corner and click “View My Cart”
  4. Proceed to checkout where you’ll add your student information for each class. Be sure to select an after class dismissal option for each course and student. Your spot in the class is held while you complete this information.
  5. After all student information has been added, you’ll finalize your purchase by selecting your pre-entered payment.
  6. Lastly, once all classes have been booked, you’ll be able to see them in your Homeroom account or add them to your Google calendar.
  7. A confirmation email will be sent immediately after purchase and as a reminder 48 hours before the first class starts.

The Fine Print: Enrichment offered for grades 1-5. Please register for only one class per child on 1/23. You may register for additional classes on 1/24. Please only register your own child – no others. Be mindful of grade limitations in each class. Students enrolled in wrong class will be removed and not guaranteed a spot in the correct class. Slots may not be sold or traded outside the platform. The next person on the waitlist will automatically get the slot. Must have E or S in citizenship. Classes are $80 each except where stated otherwise. Golf registrants will pay outside the platform. See course description for course dates, make- up policies and other requirements. All rules in the platform apply. When you enroll you agree to all posted rules and policies.
